About Us
30 race days and thousands of pounds raised for charity. That’s the story of Langtoft Road Run. So far...

We began life in 1988 as a race to raise funds for the village playgroup. The original 6.7 mile run started from the car park at the Waggon and Horses pub, with the two-mile fun run starting at East End playing field.

These races proved very popular, attracting runners from far and wide. They also included a competition between the West End and East End of the village.

In 1991 the races became metric - 10k and 3k - and shortly after we moved to our current base at Manor Way playing fields.

Over the years many village projects and groups have benefited from the money raised by our race days. New gates were provided for St Michael’s Church, a basketball net was put up on the playing field, and we made a contribution to new fences around the tennis courts.

Among the many groups to benefit from donations are Langtoft Pre-School, Langtoft Primary School, Langtoft Football Club and the village hall committee.

We didn’t hold an event in 2001 because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak or in 2013 because of a traffic management issue.

But since we returned in 2014, the hard work of our committee has seen the event enjoy record numbers in the 10k every year.

We look forward to you joining us at another great event in May!
